This project, undertaken as a capstone project in collaboration with a team at Carnegie Mellon University’s Master of Science in Product Management program, focuses on envisioning an AI-based platform that unifies fragmented travel media—photos, videos, GPS, and audio—into cohesive digital mementos. By leveraging advanced personalization techniques and real-time analytics, DreamVault addresses the challenges of disconnected tools and impersonal experiences, enabling travelers to preserve and relive their journeys more vividly than ever before.

The system operates through a layered process of data ingestion, classification, and generative modeling, culminating in narrative-driven interfaces that highlight important trip moments and generate interactive maps and highlight reels. By integrating tools such as OpenCV, AWS, mobile development frameworks, and social media APIs, the platform efficiently handles diverse data streams while maintaining robust privacy safeguards.

Extensive prototyping and user research—supported by frameworks for data privacy and generative AI—enable DreamVault to evolve rapidly, meeting the needs of diverse travel scenarios. By capturing user preferences and refining automated storytelling capabilities, the project aims to deliver an evolving platform that resonates with travelers in Pittsburgh and can be tailored for broader applications in the future.

Extensive modeling and visualization techniques—supported by machine learning frameworks such as Random Forests, PCA, and Generative AI Models (LLMs)—allow the team to transform raw telematics data into actionable recommendations. Engineers and stakeholders can then refine their prototypes or maintenance strategies based on quantified insights, enabling a more informed, evidence-based workflow.
