Background:
PlantD is a data pipeline performance, latency analysis, and testing harness from Carnegie Mellon’s TEEL Labs (funded by Honda Research Institute’s 99P Labs). It provides metrics and visualizations to help developers optimize data pipeline architectures.

PlantD orchestrates synthetic data generation, manages load patterns, and measures cost, latency, and throughput. By defining the target pipeline and specifying data structures, developers can quickly assess and compare various configurations to ensure efficiency and reliability.

Findings:
PlantD provides insights that inform architectural choices and configurations, resulting in more efficient, reliable data pipelines. As an ongoing project, user feedback helps improve its features and usability.
